Identify your Visa Type

A tourist visa is the right choice for you if:

  • You are visiting Denmark for tourism purposes only.
  • Your stay will not exceed 90 days in any 180-day period.

Documents Required

The documents you will need to submit will vary depending on your employment status. Here’s a general checklist to get you started. Please refer to the attached image (checklist) for a more detailed list:

  • Application Form: Filled online at ApplyVisa [Link : NewToDenmark]
  • Valid Indian Passport: With at least three months validity beyond your intended stay in Denmark and two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Passport-size photographs: Two recent photographs meeting the specifications outlined below (See Photo Specifications).
  • Proof of Accommodation: Hotel booking confirmations, hostel reservations, or a letter of invitation from a host in Denmark.
  • Proof of Travel: Round trip flight tickets or itinerary.
  • Travel Medical Insurance: Valid for the Schengen Area and covering at least €30,000 for medical emergencies, hospitalization, and repatriation.
  • Proof of Financial Means: Bank statements, salary slips, or other documents demonstrating you have sufficient funds to cover your stay in Denmark (DKK 350 per day for stays in private homes and DKK 500 per day for hotel stays).

For Employed Individuals:

  • Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages along with 6 months of validity
  • Passport-sized photos

For Retired Individuals:

  • Valid passport with at least 2 blank pages along with 6 months of validity
  • Passport-sized photos

  • Pension certificate / PPO Certificate / Pension Passbook
  • Bank statements of the last 6 months

For Housewives:

Note: All documents must be original when copied or use certified copies. If your documents are not in English, you may need to provide certified translations on Embassy request.

Begin Your Application

Embassy Jurisdiction:

Applications are submitted based on the Indian state where your passport was issued. You can find the relevant embassy or visa application center on the VFS Global website. 

Once you have determined your eligibility and collected the necessary documents, you can begin your application:

  1. Download the application form from ApplyVisa [Link : NewToDenmark]
  2. Complete the application form electronically.
  3. Print the completed application form.
  4. Schedule an appointment at a VFS Global Visa Application Center (see below).

Embassy Does Not Accept:

  • Applications submitted by mail or post.
  • Applications submitted by travel agents or unauthorized personnel (with some exceptions – see Collection Process below).

Submission Process

When you visit the VFS Global Visa Application Center for your appointment, you will need to:

  • Submit your completed application form and printed cover letter.
  • Pay the visa fee
  • Pay the VFS service charge.
  • Pay for any optional services you choose (courier charges, SMS updates, etc.).

Optional Services:

  • Courier Charges: Have your passport returned to you by courier after the visa decision is made.
  • SMS Charges: Receive updates on the status of your visa application by SMS.
  • Premium Lounge: Relax in a comfortable environment while you wait for your appointment.
  • Printing Charges: Have the VFS Global Visa Application Center print your application form and supporting documents for a fee.

Processing Timeline

The normal processing time for a Denmark Tourist Visa is 15 days. However, in some cases, it might take up to 30 days. In exceptional cases, the processing time can extend to 45 days.
